Frequently asked questions
How many times a day do you dive?
We go out two to four times a day, depending on the season. On the first trip, we try to go to the reefs when the conditions allow. On the other trips, we usually go to the Cerbical islands in the natural reserve, which are ideal for both novice divers and snorkelling, as well as for experienced divers.

Are your trips single or double tank?
Our trips are single tank as standard.

Do you have to be naked?
No. Even though our dive centre is located on the grounds of a nudist campsite, as a diving guest you are welcome to stay clothed. We employees of the diving centre are also dressed.

What languages do you speak?
Hippocampe Dive Centre has been under German management since 1981, which is why we have many German-speaking instructors. Otherwise, we all speak English and most of us speak French. But underwater we all speak the same language ;)

What equipment can I rent from you?
You can rent all the usual diving equipment, from tanks, regulators and BCDs to wetsuits, ABC equipment, torches and dive computers.

Do I have to decide on a dive package before diving?
No. If you do several dives with us we usually do the billing at the end wherefore the dives are automatically calculated as dive packages.

Can more than one diver share a dive package?
No, the dive packages are only valid for one diver at a time.

Do the courses start on certain days?
No, we try to adapt to you as much as possible.

How many days does it take to finish a scuba-course?
It depends on the course and how far in advance you sign up. The courses that divers often start with are the Scuba Diver, with three training dives and the Open Water Diver with five training dives. If you have done your try-dive with us it can substitude the first training dive. Normally you need two course days for the Scuba Diver and four course days for the Open Water Diver. Sometimes it is also possible to do the courses more compact with two dives per day. If you are interested please contact us.
